Privacy Policy

TheUnspokenWords.com is built to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what is collected, what is not, and who else is involved.

This site has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts. You do not need to identify yourself to read messages or to leave one. There is no profile to manage and no password to keep.

When you submit a message, the text of that message is stored on its own. No name, email address, account, or IP address is stored alongside it, and none is attached to it afterward. We cannot tell who wrote any message on this site.

Submitting a message also adds one to the public counter at the top of the homepage. That counter is a single running total and holds nothing about you.

If you report a message, the report is counted against that message and an alert is sent to the site owner so it can be reviewed. Nothing about the person who reported it is recorded or sent.

Buying a name listing is the only part of this site that involves your personal information.

• Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. Card numbers never reach this site and are never stored here.
• The name and any details you choose to display are stored and shown publicly. That is the purpose of the listing.
• Your email address and Stripe's customer and purchase identifiers are stored so we can recognize your purchase, answer questions about it, and handle renewals or removal.
• Your email address is added to our mailing list through MailerLite so we can reach listing holders about their listing. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives your IP address, approximate location, device, and browser as part of that measurement. It is used for traffic measurement only.

You can block this with any browser setting or extension that blocks analytics, or with Google's own opt-out add-on. Blocking it does not affect anything on this site.

The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser requests them from Google directly, which means Google receives your IP address in the process.

The help page is an ordinary page on this site. It loads nothing from anywhere else, sets nothing in your browser, and there is no chat box or form on it. Reading it tells us nothing about you beyond the ordinary analytics described above.

If it does not answer your question, the page points you to email. Anything you write in an email is of course visible to whoever reads it, so please do not send a message meant for the public wall that way.

• We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers
• We do not run ads or advertising trackers
• We do not use device fingerprinting
• We do not ask for your name, phone number, home address, or demographic information
• We do not store IP addresses in our own database, and never against a message

These are the outside services this site relies on. Each has its own privacy policy governing what it does with data on its end.

Messages stay on the site until they are removed, either through the reporting system or by request. Listing records are kept while the listing is live, and afterward as part of the site's purchase records. Payment records are held by Stripe under Stripe's own retention rules, and mailing list entries stay with MailerLite until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Emails you send us are kept with the support mailbox so a question can be picked back up later, and can be deleted on request like anything else here.

There is no self-service deletion tool on this site, because there are no accounts to sign in to. Email support@theunspokenwords.com and it will be handled by hand. Removal requests are tracked, so you will get a reply confirming what was done.

• To remove a message: include its exact wording. It is the only way to find it.
• To remove or correct a listing: write from the email address used at checkout.
• To leave the mailing list: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or just ask.

This site is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

This policy may be updated at any time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
